What does the SA Foundation do?
THE AVERAGE AGE A GIRL ENTERS THE SEX TRADE IS 13 YEARS OLD.
Trafficking for sexual exploitation is the fastest growing business of organized crime in the world. A history of abuse and neglect are common factors of those who are exploited.
Women and children are often sold into exploitation by people they know and trust. Sexual exploitation occurs right here in our own city.
NO COUNTRY, CITY OR COMMUNITY IS IMMUNE.
The SA Foundation believes that no person should be enslaved by, or trapped in the sex trade and exists to provide an avenue of escape for these women and their children worldwide.
It is an Alberta based organization and holds one of it's most important events, The Ice Breaker Polar Dip, right here in the City of Calgary.
The SA Program Model has been replicated in 8 countries and generates a 70% success rate over a 3 year implementation period.
The SA founder started its pilot program in 1989 in Calgary and proceeded to develop the SA Foundation in 1995.
